This summary explains how AbiSabi handles data in plain language.
Our commitment
AbiSabi is built for schools. Student data is used solely to deliver and improve the learning experience for that student and their teacher. We never sell student data, and we never use it for third-party advertising.
What we collect
Account information (name, email, role), the subjects and goals a student selects, practice responses and scores, free-response submissions (including uploaded booklet images), and usage analytics used to power the gap map and teacher reports.
Cookies & similar technologies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and remember your preferences, and limited analytics to understand how AbiSabi is used and improve it. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or trackers.
How AI is used
AI features (the tutor, explanations, and grading of handwritten free-response) process student work to generate feedback. Submissions are not used to train third-party foundation models, and uploaded booklet images are retained only to display and re-grade the student’s own submission. AI grading suggestions can be reviewed and overridden by a teacher — we do not rely on fully automated decisions for anything that affects a student’s grade in their school’s official records.
How we share data
We share data only with the service providers that operate AbiSabi on our behalf, under contracts that limit their use of it to providing that service: Anthropic (AI tutoring and grading), our payment processor (we never see or store your card details), Resend (transactional email), and our cloud hosting and database providers. We do not sell data to anyone, and we do not share it with advertisers.
Data retention
We keep account and learning-progress data for as long as your account is active, plus a limited period after cancellation in case you return. Schools can request deletion of a student’s records at any time; when a school’s contract ends, we delete or return its data within a reasonable period as agreed with the school.
Data security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and access is role-scoped (student / teacher / admin). We follow industry-standard security practices and review them regularly.
If a data breach occurs
In the unlikely event of a security incident affecting your data, we will investigate promptly and notify affected schools, administrators, or account holders without undue delay, consistent with applicable law.
Your rights & data portability
Students, parents (via their school), and administrators can request access to, correction of, export of, or deletion of their data. Teachers can export their class gradebook at any time.
California privacy rights
California residents have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know what personal information we hold, request deletion, and opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information — which we do not engage in. Contact us to exercise these rights.
International users
AbiSabi is legally operated by our company in Uzbekistan; our hosting and database infrastructure runs in the United States. If you access AbiSabi from outside Uzbekistan (including the US, UK, EU, or Australia), your data is processed and stored in the US under the safeguards described here; by using AbiSabi you consent to this transfer. Users in the UK/EU have rights under GDPR equivalent to those described above.
Change of control
If AbiSabi is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify affected users before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as AbiSabi evolves. For school accounts, we notify administrators of material changes; for individual accounts, we’ll post a notice on this page.
